USAID Tuberculosis Program Support Activity in Kenya

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Kenya and East Africa is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified local organizations to implement the Tuberculosis Program Support Activity.

The purpose of this program is to support the Ministry of Health (MoH) to control and prevent tuberculosis (TB) by covering diagnosis of TB, treatment of diagnosed patients and prevention of transmission of TB, besides spearheading introduction of new technologies and approaches, and sustain the gains made in control of TB in Kenya.

Sub-Purpose 2: Increase TB Treatment SuccessOutput 2.1: Improve Quality of CareOutput 2.2: Increase Adherence to TB TreatmentOutput 2.3: Strengthen Facility and Community Linkages
Sub-Purpose 3: Strengthen the Prevention of TB among People At RiskOutput 3.1: Increase TPT Uptake Among At-risk PopulationsOutput 3.2: Strengthen TB SurveillanceOutput 3.3: Strengthen Implementation of TB Infection Control
Sub-Purpose 4: Strengthen Capacity and Sustainability for TB ControlOutput 4.1: Strengthen the Capacity for TB Control at National and County LevelsOutput 4.2: Strengthen TB M&E SystemsOutput 4.3: Enhance Research and Innovations for TB Control.

Funding Information
USAID intends to award one (1) Cooperative Agreements pursuant to this notice of funding opportunity. Subject to funding availability and at the discretion of the Agency, USAID intends to provide $48,295,619.00
The anticipated period of performance is five (5) years. The estimated start date will be upon the signature of the award, on or about April 01, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is restricted to Local Partners, who are Kenyan entities as defined below. USAID/Kenya and east Africa is transferring resources to Kenyan organizations so they can further their reach in implementing locally led sustainable health activities.
Only local organizations as defined below are eligible for award. USAID defines a “local entity” as an individual, a corporation, a nonprofit organization, or another body of persons that:Is legally organized under the laws ofHas as its principal place of business or operations inIsmajority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents ofmanaged by a governing body the majority of who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the country receiving assistance.

USAID welcomes applications from organizations that have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
Faith-based organizations are eligible to apply for federal financial assistance on the same basis as any other organization and are subject to the protections and requirements of Federal law.
