Women of the Future Program – Gabon

Applications are now open for the Women of the Future Hub to enable a selection of Gabonese entrepreneurs to benefit from dedicated support including training, mentoring and access to financing.

This hub is the materialization of WIA and Eramet’s commitment to creating dynamic and innovative ecosystems in Africa through female entrepreneurship.

The Hub Femmes d’Avenir, the first of its kind in Libreville, is also a place that hosts events to highlight and promote Gabonese women’s entrepreneurship throughout the year.

Through this program they wish to contribute to the development of a community of local innovators, who provide solutions to the many challenges facing Africa, particularly with regard to innovation and new technologies, Fintech, transformation agricultural; and to make viable and sustainable the business models that emerge from these solutions.

Course of the Program

The Women of the Future program takes place in several phases:

First, a call for applications is launched in May 2023 to all Gabonese entrepreneurs.

After the program beneficiary selection phase, the program begins with training sessions that focus on technical subjects and “soft skills” subjects such as writing a business plan or public speaking. Entrepreneurs are also trained in entrepreneurial pitching and receive all the necessary keys to access funding.

Then, the beneficiaries are put in touch with a dedicated mentor and are accompanied on a very specific issue to support them in the development of their businesses, with consistency and kindness.

Finally, some of the beneficiaries are selected for roadshows in order to raise funds.

Throughout the program, entrepreneurs benefit from visibility on WIA’s social networks.

Eligibility Criteria

Company created or managed by a Gabonese woman.

First traction on the market (turnover, number of users and/or customers, funds raised, etc.).

Candidates must fill in the application form, which includes 2 types of sections:personal information;company information.

The Women in Africa team will make a rigorous selection according to criteria of motivation, progress and potential of the project presented.
